What is a yard sale?

Amy’s Yard Sale in its simplest terms is a platform to help people. A yard sale is any event where the goal of the event is to do Amy’s work and help others. Below are some examples of yard sales that we have had:

Actual Yard/Garage Sale

This is a great way to help. We have had a number of people volunteer to host yard/garage sales and then donate the proceeds to Amy’s Yard Sale. Normally these events will generate $400-$500 which is enough money for us to provide groceries to a family for a month

Dine & Donate

This is one of the easiest fundraisers that put together. We find a restaurant willing to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sales that day to Amy’s Yard Sale. We have hosted events like this at Panera, MaGerks Pub and Bertucci’s. Once we have a location, we advertise the event on social media. These events normally generate about $200 which will help pay a utility bill for a family

Shop & Donate

Similar to Dine & Donate, we find stores that are willing to donate proceeds from the sales that day to Amy’s Yard Sale. Sara Campbell in Chestnut Hill hosts a great event for us every year during Stag and Doe. It’s a great opportunity to do some of your Christmas shopping and support Amy’s Yard Sale. These events normally generate about $500 which will provide about 20 hours of in home care for a patient on hospice care

PIT Fall Party

Prime Intensity Training in Conshohocken has been a great partner to Amy’s Yard Sale and has helped us raised over $25,000 over the last few years. Amy used to work out at PIT. Every fall, PIT has a party and invites all of the people who work out there to come out for a really fun night. The main fundraiser is a wheel where you can win gift cards, bottles of bourbon and wine, speakers, etc. All the prizes are donated by local businesses. Most of the funds that we have raised through PIT have helped sponsor rooms at the Hope Lodge

T-Shirt Sales

Throughout the year, we sell Amy’s Yard Sale merchandise such as shirts, sweatshirts, hats, masks during covid, etc. Selling merchandise is a great way to advertise our organization as well as raise funds to help others. These fundraisers normally raise $200-$300 which is enough to provide a month of transportation for a patient

Food & Clothing Drives

Not every event we have is to directly support families battling cancer. Although that is our focus, we want to help others less fortunate as well. We support food and clothing drives throughout the year.

We understand that your most precious commodity is your time. We are so grateful to everyone who gives their time to host their yard sales to help us do Amy’s work.
